Tour de Lila – Charity/Fund Raiser – Cycling/Fun Run/Walk
| This event will raise money for the family of 5 year old Lila Hunter of Advance, NC who suffers from a rare condition called Trifunctional Protein Deficiency. Lila needs 19 hours of in-home nursing care per day and is on a 24 hour ventilator and feeding tube. Lila is also on heart medication to keep her heart functioning properly. Due to her condition she must be home schooled. Future expenses for Lila include a backup generator for continuous electricity throughout the year. |
COURSE DESCRIPTION & LOCATION
Routes are available for all levels of ability. All routes run through scenic rural areas of Davidson County and are marked clearly on the roadway. A single rest stop with snacks and drinks will be provided at the halfway distance on the 50 mile route. All other routes will have snacks and drinks provided at the end of the route. All routes depart and return to Richard Childress Racing Facility in Welcome, NC.
ENTRY FEE
$25.00 Per cycling Participant
$15.00 Per fun run/walk participant
The registration fee includes: the ride with support on the route, door prizes, and lunch.

Childress Angels Filling Shoeboxes for
Operation Christmas Child
All filled shoeboxes will be donated to Franklin Graham’s relief organization, Samaritan’s Purse, which will deliver them to children across the globe at Christmas. Additionally, anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution to purchases for the shoebox drive or the $7 required for shipping each box can do so through Michelle Hemric at RCR or Penny Gabard at Childress Vineyards. Checks should be made payable to Childress Angels.
Please submit shoebox-sized items to the designated donation sites and Childress Angels will stuff the boxes. Items suggested for donation include:
Toys – small cars; balls, dolls; stuffed animals; kazoos; harmonicas; yo-yos; Slinky and toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), etc.
School Supplies – pens; pencils and sharpener; crayons or markers; stamps and ink pad sets; writing pads or paper; solar calculators and coloring and picture books, etc.
Hygiene Items – toothbrush; toothpaste; mild bar soap (in a plastic bag); comb or washcloth, etc.
Other – hard candy and lollipops (please double-bag all candy); mints; gum; T-shirts; socks; ball caps; sunglasses; hair clips; watches or flashlights (with extra batteries)
A Personal Note to Child – In a separate envelope, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or family. If you would like to include your name and address, the child may respond.
Items NOT to include:
Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable or glass items or aerosol cans.
Please keep in mind all items must be small enough to fit into a standard-sized shoebox.
